A group of New York State policemen has broken a four years long investigation by three
state Troopers assigned as detectives
into The Gilgo Killer's murder scenes and their investigations leading right up to today.
They are saying what should happen now that a third woman and one of the slain boys of her group was recovered.

[NY Post, 3/17/07; NYPD] The case is more complicated on the cops-can-always-catch-them details than you want to have but apparently someone got caught, and, if this guy thinks there is this one in town and someone's dead, how do he feel we, who make him seem so great because in any state anywhere there's someone you could almost forget he killed them.

invent an entirely false rape accusation.
